University of Pennsylvania
The Weitzman School
The Situation
The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design has a long and storied history across five distinct, yet interrelated disciplines: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, City & Regional Planning, Historic Preservation, and Fine Arts. Their lean, but high-functioning communications and development teams have relied on Untuck for several years to help imagine, govern, and guide the School’s identity across a variety of channels including a capital campaign that would change everything. In 2019, a transformational gift from fashion icon Stuart Weitzman and the ensuing rapid launch of the new Stuart Weitzman School of Design needed the attention of an experienced and trusted partner.
Our Approach
After a University-led rebrand delivered a new but partially-realized visual identity for the Weitzman School, Untuck was tasked with fully extending the identity to various touchpoints within the School’s universe. Armed with a curious mindset, we asked many questions to determine how to best equip the graduate programs with materials that would be equally effective and beautiful; after all, the prestigious design school has a very discerning audience. Working in step with the communications and development teams, we identified and redesigned front-facing elements ranging from reports and brochures to digital design systems and promotional graphics.
