By improving navigation we could surface core content and drive engagement to programs, events, news, and insights.
The University City Science Center is the nation’s first and largest urban research park dedicated to helping innovators and entrepreneurs take their creative ideas to the marketplace. In the eyes of the public and regional business community, the Science Center often struggled to separate the breadth and impact of its programming from its physical space. After completing an extensive strategic planning process, the Science Center leadership team realized the brand and website missed the mark and needed to start working for them, not against them.
Our work with the Science Center started with deep discovery where we led a range of methods including staff and stakeholder interviews, user surveys, team workshops, and competitive research. This gave us a clear understanding of the Science Center’s unique challenges, vision for the future, and core objectives and requirements, laying an ideal foundation for our work together. The result was a refreshed and cohesive brand that visualized the Science Center as a vital economic engine and a website that aligned with the needs of its visitors and stakeholders.
By improving navigation we could surface core content and drive engagement to programs, events, news, and insights.
To simply illustrate how the Science Center mobilizes an equitable life science ecosystem so startups can do what they do best, we created a Venn diagram. This positions the organization as an innovation intermediary operating at the intersection of three distinct ecosystems to drive inclusive growth across Greater Philadelphia and beyond.
We designed an engaging, immersive user experience and interface design introducing users to the new Science Center visual identity. A secure, intuitive, and flexible content management system was built for the team to add pages and update content while remaining scalable for future expansion as different needs arise.
